JEFFREY BERKO

Jeff Berko is a Senior Research Manager at ATLAS CLARITY LLC and Health Equity Outcomes (HEO). He has over 11 years’ experience managing public health research projects, with particular expertise in using data to answer questions and drive decision making.

Prior to his current role, Jeff served as the Director of Research for Enhanced Health, Inc., where he oversaw the research operations of an online, prospective study of over 1,000 people living with HIV/AIDS. In addition to recruiting study sites and participants, Jeff analyzed the data and translated the results into publications for both lay audiences and scientific journals.

Jeff has also worked at the Institute for Health and Productivity Studies at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where he developed workplace wellness guides for small businesses. He conducted literature reviews and synthesized the results for publication and dissemination to small business owners. The guide was used by the American Heart Association, the CDC, and the Transamerica Center for Health Studies.

He was an Associate Service Fellow at the National Center for Health Statistics (the statistical branch of the CDC). He managed federal research projects that examined the impacts of a wide range of environmental factors on human health, including the effects of climate change in the United States; relationships between household income and demographic characteristics with air pollution exposure; and demographic characteristics associated with exposure to plastic contaminants in food sources.

Jeff has a Masters in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a BA from Wesleyan University.
